To set me on my way.
To bring about a transformation
Find a way of reclamation;
Like - save a house from condemnation
We must have imagination
To effect a change.
To give it complete restoration,
Paint the house in pink carnation;
Oodles of bright decoration.
That will do the job!
But lift a soul from damnation
Find a way of reclamation;
Bring that soul to full salvation
Well – if we only could.
Christ alone gives liberation
From our sin and condemnation
He died for our preservation
From the gates of hell.
From our poor and lowly station
From our deep humiliation
Christ Jesus brings emancipation
For Jesus Christ is Lord.
